2nd International Workshop on Waves, Storm Surges and Coastal Hazards
Incorporating the 16th International Waves Workshop
10–15 November 2019
Sheraton Hotel, Melbourne, Australia
The International Waves Workshop has a long history as the pre-eminent gathering of ocean waves researchers. Noting the increasingly important roles waves play as a significant element in coastal and shoreline stability, in 2017 the conference was expanded to include the related areas of Storm Surge and Coastal Hazards
We are delighted that the University of Melbourne will host this important event in 2019 in Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne is a vibrant cosmopolitan city and is regularly voted as one of the most liveable cities in the world. It is also an education and research city, hosting 8 Universities, as well as the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM). It is also a city with remarkable culture including many art galleries, museums and theatres.
The conference will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in the centre of Melbourne. The venue is a few minute’s walk from numerous restaurants, the theatre district, State Parliament House and spectacular parks and gardens.
We look forward to welcoming you to the city and this important scientific meeting.
